The new BluePOD product family designed to simplify audio and video conferencing has been launched by Williams AV.  The Bluetooth wireless access point (B-WAP) which is enclosed in a pod, is  equipped with a Bluetooth 4.2 aptX HD long-range transceiver – elevated by a new HD codec standard that supports 24-bit, high-resolution Bluetooth audio.

To make a conference call it is as easy as tapping the button on the device; adjusting the volume, muting and connecting is all done on the standard volume control on a smart phone or laptop. Using the system setup screens on the embedded web server provides complete setup control and the ability to adjust input gain on each audio source.

Featuring an integrated mixer with DSP functions, including Acoustic Echo Cancellation, the mixer includes four inputs (two mic/two line), two line outputs and two 25W amplifiers.

Williams AV president and chief executive Rob Sheeley says that Bluetooth networks can now be meeting spaces thanks to the B-WAP solution.

“For smaller rooms with no audio equipment, our BluePOD Mate provides a complete Bluetooth B-WAP/audio mixer/amplifier solution, giving integrators the ability to add their own speakers and microphones and create their own system,” he says.

“Our goal was to offer a broadcast-quality Bluetooth solution to support the needs of the professional AV integrator. Like our assistive listening products, we now offer a high-quality Bluetooth solution compatible with any existing audio system or new system currently being designed.”

Other BluePOD systems that will be available soon:

The BluePOD Solo; giving integrators the ability to add the B-WAP into any existing audio system for total Bluetooth functionality. Also available is the BluePOD Solo D, featuring a Dante network port.

The BluePOD Conference Mate; a complete audio solution that pairs the B-WAP with the BluePOD Conference Mate Controller.

Williams AV offers digital, infrared and induction loop wireless audio, as well as video annotation and presentation systems. Their products are distributed in Australia by Hills. For more information, visit hills.com.au.
