What can a control system do and why do I need one?
If this is the case, it may be a good idea to invest in an integrated control system to make sure that these different components can work efficiently and to their full effect. Control systems aim to perform many tasks simultaneously, quickly and reliably, and there are many types available to control your home theatre or even your entire house.
Control systems can be hardwired to your equipment via a central processor and also operated through a wireless remote, touch screens or keypads. Each button can be programmed so it operates a device or sets a scene, or users can scroll through the controls for each separate system on a touch panel.
Touch screens can also operate through radio frequency (RF). Unlike infrared (IR), the components don’t have to be within the remote’s line of sight to pick up signals. Control systems can also make use of one-way RF, where the signal travels from the remote to the processor, or two-way RF, where a return signal is sent back to the remote and confirms the command was received. This is useful if your equipment isn’t within view of the seating area.
