URC launches Total Control 2.0URC has announced the launch of Total Control 2.0, a comprehensive upgrade to the company’s flagship automation and control system, at CEDIA 2017.

Total Control 2.0 features a next-generation graphic user interface, customisation and quick programming, as well as an attractive new tabletop touch screen controller and in-wall touch screen keypads.

The family of Total Control 2.0 user interfaces can be programmed with an extensive selection of custom backgrounds, room images and icons. Programmers can upload images from the large URC library, the users’ personal library or photographs taken with a smart device or camera.

The launch of Total Control 2.0 will be supported with fully-interactive product demonstrations and manufacturer training sessions at booth #5529 at CEDIA 2017, as well as national United States dealer training featuring hands-on programming and third party integration.

“Our Total Control 2.0 training offers systems integrators the opportunity to experience this robust system first hand. Three-day events offering individualised instruction, programming and integration will transform an attendee to a masterful Total Control 2.0 programmer,” says URC senior vice president and general manager Doug Cole.

The robust Total Control system incorporates a variety of advanced features, including in-app launching, remote user access and offsite programming. Additionally, favourite channels provide homeowners with quick access to their favourite TV programs with a touch of their URC user interface. Users can also preview current program information before they change the channel.

Total Control offers whole-house automation and control of up to 32 zones of entertainment, audio, lighting, temperature, security and surveillance. It integrates with TV and AV brands as well as smart home products. It also includes proprietary digital music streaming and distribution, lighting control, camera and sensor technology.

Additionally, Total Control integrates with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for intelligent voice control.

“While control systems can be controlled with a smart phone or tablet, we believe that the dedicated URC tabletop touch screen controller should be the centrepiece of a whole-house automation system,” says URC founder and chief executive Chang K. Park.
