Tributaries HDT TITAN passive HDMI cable certified for 18Gbps performanceTributaries has announced its HDT TITAN passive, all-copper 10m HDMI cable has been certified by both DPL Labs and ISF for 18Gbps performance. This ensures the capability of passing a 4K/60 HDR signal.

The development and application of Tributaries’ patented, advanced metallurgical engineering resulted, partly, in the development of the HDMI cable. This new copper formulation has high-frequency conduction characteristics far beyond standard oxygen-free copper, resulting in lower losses.

As an HDMI signal operates at very high frequencies it travels on the surface of a conductor with very little depth of penetration. This phenomenon is known as ‘skin effect’.

Tributaries’ design has provided a method of extending the length of an 18G passive HDMI cable to 10m from the previous longest length of 5m. As installers know, passive cables are bi-directional and voltage agnostic, making any long run installation simpler and more stable.
