Thread Group has partnered with KNX Association Startups Incubator program, to leverage the strengths of both organisations and increase awareness and adoption of KNX IoT and Thread technologies through coordinated efforts.

The KNX IoT Startup Incubator unites startups with technology experts and leading global manufacturers to help facilitate home and building IoT sector innovations. After introducing KNX-IoT, KNX has further increased interoperability to internet protocol (IP) technologies with connectivity solution Thread, for easier entry and accelerated development for new digital business initiatives.

The KNX IoT Startup Incubator program offers invaluable resources, expertise and visibility at major events to budding enterprises dedicated to KNX IoT solutions. The program retains the core values of KNX and unlocks opportunities by embracing IPv6-based wireless connectivity.

Maintaining backward compatibility with classic KNX systems, the IoT solution can be added to endlessly extend the network with Thread’s IP-based low-power, wireless mesh nodes and the incubator networking model gives all KNX members new options to bring more innovative IoT products to the home and building automation market.

Customised support and promotion will be offered for KNX IoT startups, planning to develop KNX IoT solutions based on Thread.
