Surround Sounds opens Lifestyle Technology Centre
A collaboration between local artisans, and international companies from both the consumer electronics and building industries, Surround Sounds has orchestrated and created a unique CE showroom facility.
The winners will be architects, interiors designers, builders and clients whom can enjoy and appreciate a sense of finished concept when choosing home entertainment, hi-fi, security and other smart home systems such as lighting and home control.
Among the complimenting technology are new TV concealment lifts, acoustic treatments, engineered stone, custom cabinetry, artisan pool table design, eco fireplace, decorative metal panelling, locally made soft furnishings, LED lighting, Cooking appliances, Beer dispensing systems and new generation floor coverings.

The centre is built as a part of the wider Surround Sounds showroom, has specific zoned areas each showcasing a style or concept, but is made to flow and work together as one space.
• Fancy pouring beer on tap whilst you watch a movie on the big screen in 5.1 Surround Sound and shoot a game of pool? Why not do it all in the Mancave. Cleverly integrating a full commercial sized beer font, keg and chilling system into a home theatre cabinet along with the very contemporary pool table, the team at Surrounds have perhaps created a monster here with many clients and staff not wanting to leave.
• Colourful RGB LED lights gently wash a wavy metal chain curtain that divides the Mancave and the Japanese influenced Outdoor Kitchen space. Complete with the slick new Thurlo electric Teppanyaki grill integrated into a very social island bench made from Caesarstone, this area is the perfect entertaining location. Whilst waiting for your grill order, you can enjoy music through the multi room audio concealed speakers or watch TV on the 55” screen that smoothly drops in an automated lift above the kitchen bulkhead. Natural travertine flooring to the space leading up to rustic laser cut metal screen panels gives a warm feel softening the stainless steel Qasair rangehood and black mirrored backdrop.
• The White room is a very tranquil space to enjoy quality music and music only; a listening space. Calm LED lighting and been threaded throughout custom made acoustic treatments that provide a sanitised Tron-like feel. Demonstrating the importance that room acoustic treatments can play a part in modern home design, this room features a locally handmade lush white leather couch and gorgeous two channel audio system to die for.
• The Sitting area, is a chill out zone and Burgtec seating hosts a comfy location by the double sided ecosmart fire place. The fire hearth is clad in beautiful crushed glass wallpaper imported from the UK, and recessed B&W speakers deliver the perfects tunes for a quiet drink or chat. An in wall Home Control panel allows simple control over all systems in the space, lighting, security, blinds and cctv display. Quiet Acoustics new panel artwork in this area control any ‘echo’ – social acoustic issues where talking intelligibility in a large space can be challenging.
• The Living area features Sharp’s huge 80” LED TV, integrated into a sleek modern high gloss cabinet backlit with LED. This space with Obelli made lounges, Butler Interior fine furniture, and a 5.1 Surround Sound system take pride of place looking down the highway as a model shop window.
• The Family space adjoining an open plan contemporary kitchen and dining space enjoys large salt water aquarium, TV concealed by motorised artwork, a motorised swivelling TV in the dining area and multi room audio throughout.
• The Bar area hosts Vintec wine and beverage centres along with a custom made James Bond style motorised TV panel concealment system.
• Cinema DeLux is Surround Sounds’ $300,000 AUD premiere home theatre space and features a full Hollywood grade screening room with 7.1 Surround Sound, anamorphic 158” screen and DLP projection along with fine furnishings, Professional LED lighting, and integrated cabinetry.
The Surround Sounds Lifestyle Technology centre is now open to the general public at 83 Stirling Hwy, Nedlands WA.
