Standards Australia rolls out AI training
Standards Australia has rolled out AI training in partnership with the Australian National University (ANU), offering professionals and organisations the chance to delve into AS ISO/IEC 42001:2023 Information technology – Artificial intelligence – Management System.
With the growing development and application of artificial intelligence (AI), AS ISO/IEC 42001:2023 addresses the unique challenges AI poses such as ethical considerations, transparency and continuous learning. For organisations, it sets out a structured way to manage risks and opportunities associated with AI, balancing innovation with governance.

“We know there is a need for stringent guidelines and practices with AI. The adoption of this standard saw vast local interest and our training courses aim to meet this interest and help local organisations better understand and utilise the standard,” Standard Australia chief operating officer Kareen Riley-Takos says.
The development of the standard involved experts from over 50 countries. It can be used by any size or type of organisation that intends to make use of AI for developing or delivering its products and services.
In partnership with ANU, the two-hour online learning module will provide an in-depth overview of the new standard, provide a succinct explanation of AI and cut through the complexity of AI at an organisational level, allowing participants to understand risk management best practices in AI.
The module is on-demand offering participants the opportunity to access the material when it suits them and participants will receive a certificate of completion following their attendance.
