Sound United, which is the parent company of audio brands Denon, Marantz, Polk Audio, Definitive Technology, HEOS, Boston Acoustics and Polk BOOM, has announced that Westan Australia is the new distributor for Polk Audio in Australia.

Westan Australia will be replacing Interdyn as the distributor for the brand effective as of 1 February 2018 but Interdyn will continue its support of Polk Audio in New Zealand. Directed Electronics will remain onboard as the distributor of record for all Polk 12v and personal audio products in the region.

Sound United vice president of international commercial operations Blair Tripodi says through this realigned distribution network, Polk Audio will continue to provide excellent audio solutions and meet the increased demand for high-performance audio systems and accessories in the Australian market.

“To capture future growth and opportunities ahead, we’re excited to start this relationship with Westan Australia, leveraging its strong, established distribution network and expertise within the audio market,” says Blair.

“Over the past 26-years, Interdyn has been a valued partner helping establish the Polk Audio brand in the market and we appreciate their support.”

In March 2017, Sound United acquired D+M Group which consisted of Denon, Marantz, HEOS and Boston Acoustics, expanding the company’s global reach and business opportunities. The acquisition has significantly increased the Sound United’s presence in the custom installation, high-end audio and consumer audio markets globally.
