The company, known for pushing the boundaries in the professional AV, home cinema and display markets, has taken its lead from Sony’s recent and much-heralded technology innovations in choosing products for the show.

Sony Australia Product Manager- Visual Presentation, Digital Signage and Home Cinema Projection Alex Lofts explained, “We will be displaying our new laser light source technology, including our new VPL-FHZ55 3LCD laser light source projector, in a 3 screen vertical set up alongside Multiview, our edge-blended presentation tool that displays multiple sources quickly and easily. There’s also our new Ultra Short Throw (UST) interactive projector in various set ups including wall and table and our new tablet interactivity with our desktop PJ models. Our displays will literally be one to watch out for as we’ll be demonstrating our 4K offering with 84” 4K panels and the latest VW1000ES SXRD™ 4K movie theater projector, which delivers greater than four times 1080p resolution, anamorphic 3D, and 1080p to 4K upscaling and has been described as ‘this year’s ‘Holy Grail’ of a home theater projector.’”

If that wasn’t enough Sony are also demonstrating new developments in digital audio, security products and mobile computing alongside new touch screen control methods with their range of PTZ cameras and the brand new 2013 range of Bravia Pro series panels.

Lofts continued, “Laser light source technology is substantial step forward for the projection industry as we can now see very bright installation level projectors that last longer, require less maintenance, open up significant new opportunities in projected image orientation and thus drive a lower total cost of ownership.”

Sony’s 4K Ultra HD ecosystem has wowed crowds at trade shows all over the world with the company taking a complete end-to-end approach to the technology’s workflow. With more and more content being shot natively in 4K on Sony professional cameras, sales of its 4K panels are steadily increasing in both professional and consumer markets.

Lofts added, “Our 4K display technology is another huge step forward as resolution is now approaching the visible limit of what the eye can truly appreciate from a normal viewing distance. With four times the resolution of Full HD, movies and gaming have become more immersive delivering astonishing images for the ultimate in entertainment and detailed business displays. We will progressively see 4K resolutions become ubiquitous, just as Full HD has become, as Hollywood has been filming movies digitally at 4K resolution for a while now and traditional 35mm film is close to native in 4K. Obviously as computing power becomes capable of processing at 4K resolutions we will see more and more business applications in 4K too, something we are already witnessing from a number of design and mapping companies. Our 4K display at Integrate will show the true boundaries of what’s currently possible in these areas and also highlight exciting possibilities and opportunities for the future.”

In 2013, Integrate will incorporate the CEDIA Asia Pacific Expo alongside InfoComm International to create Australasia’s largest AV IT industry event, catering to the professional, commercial and residential sectors.

You can visit Sony on stand B30 at Integrate 2013 at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre from 27-29 August 2013.
