The MICO series was launched in March 2010 with the MICO 50 model, boasting high-brightness and high-performance with the advantages of SIM2‘s PureLED technology for Home Cinema installations.

SIM2’s PureLED system offers many advantages over conventional lamp-based projectors, including:

• Richer, more accurate colour that is consistent over the life of the projector.
• Instant power-up and shut down with no warm-up or cooling down required.
• Extremely long life of the LED light source of around 30,000 hours (typically 10x that of a conventional lamp)
• Very quiet operation (SIM2 use liquid cooling to minimise the requirement for noise-generating fans)
• Environmental benefits such as reduced energy consumption and no disposal of used lamps containing mercury
• Very low operating costs due to elimination of regular lamp replacement and reduced electricity consumption

The Grand Cinema MICO 50 model is now joined by two new models – the MICO 40, which becomes the new entry point for SIM2 LED projection, and the MICO 60C, which adds advanced connectivity options making it an ideal projector for sophisticated custom installations.

Grand Cinema MICO 40

The MICO 40 is an ideal choice for those who want the performance of PureLED, but don’t require the additional light output or extended contrast ratio of the MICO 50 or 60C models. The MICO 40’s 700 ANSI lumen output and 50,000:1 contrast ratio are well suited to medium-sized theatres or media rooms, where screen sizes of up to 2.5m wide are typically used.
