Dividing the system into two major constituent parts, the projector and the processing electronics – the C3X Lumis HOST eliminates the detrimental signal losses associated with long cable runs from the source components in a home theatre system.

Now with SIM2’s proprietary three-line optical digital High Definition Optical Signal Transfer (HOST) system it’s possible to connect the two over distances up to 250m.

The Grand Cinema C3X Lumis HOST projector achieves extraordinary picture quality through the partnership of the latest 0.95 1080p DC4 3-chip DLP chipset from Texas Instruments, the precision optics of SIM2’s Alphapath light engine, and Dynamic Black technology. No other projector technology can match the superb colour depth and exceptional brightness (3000 ANSI Lumens) that the Grand Cinema C3X Lumis HOST is able to deliver.

Another exciting feature of the C3X Lumis HOST is SIM2’s light intensity control system which increases the projectors contrast ratio up to 35,000:1 through the use of three separate specialised components; a user-adjustable iris, Dynamic Black technology and a new dimmable lamp. Unlike other variable iris systems which can inflict detrimental effects on the final picture, SIM2’s custom-designed system provides micro-second precision matched light intensity adjustment to the source material, on a frame by frame basis.

The end result is black level and shadow detail adding a new sense of realism to the image. Such technologies meet the exacting requirements of a wide range of home theatre and professional applications, optimising light intensity and black level to each scenario.

For ease of installation and greater flexibility in positioning the projector a choice of three lens options is available for Grand Cinema C3X Lumis HOST. Add to this the wide choice of control options including; IR, RS232 and IP addressable, and the C3X Lumis HOST becomes a potent proposition for installers and customers alike.

The HOST module offers superb flexibility for video switching with no less than six HDCP compliant HDMI inputs, three HD capable Component video inputs, multiple legacy Composite and S-Video inputs, as well as RGB and HD-SDI inputs. A dedicated 10/100MB Ethernet connector (LAN) is fitted as standard. This network connection allows remote control of the projector using TCP/IP commands or feedback projector operating status.

The SIM2 Grand Cinema C3X Lumis HOST is housed in a stunning high gloss sculptured cabinet designed by Giorgio Revoldini. Prices start at $67,999 depending on lens selected.
