With four times the detail and clarity of a full HD TV, the LC-70UD1X reproduces original movie quality.

Sharp Corporation of Australia national marketing manager Mark Beard says, “We are proud to be a step ahead of the global market, and thrilled that Sharp’s LC-70UD1X will be the first 4K model on the market to pass THX certification. THX has been conducting third party evaluation for HDTVs for some time, but only recently began certifying 4K HDTVs.

“The TV has a high quality Japanese-made panel that not only delivers brilliant picture quality, but also a slim, elegant design.”

Picture quality is further enhanced on the LC-70UD1X with Edge LED backlighting and AquoMotion UHD – technology to reduce motion blur and deliver crystal-clear images, even during fast-motion scenes.

Sound quality is second to none with Sharp’s Duo BASS technology – incorporating two subwoofers into a sleek, streamlined front bezel. Teamed with 3D and 2D surround sound, the LC-70UD1X produces a crisp, superior audio experience comparable to cinema quality sound.

Sharp’s 4K 2K LCD is also equipped with remarkable smart TV technology. The internet ready device comes with a Flash-enabled Web browser, making internet surfing a breeze. Take mobile life to the big screen by connecting a tablet or mobile device via the MHL function to stay up to date with friends on Facebook, Twitter, and Skype, or browse YouTube Leanback and Picasa.

Despite the multitude of advanced features incorporated into the LCD panel, Sharp hasn’t forgotten the products primary purpose – to watch television. Viewers won’t miss a moment of the latest hit TV show with the USB-REC function, directly recording from digital broadcast and replaying content via a USB HDD.

The Sharp LC-70UD1X comes with two sets of 3D glasses and a wireless LAN Adaptor and measures 1578 x 996 x 374 mm with a stand, 1578 x 950 x 114 mm without a stand and weighs 55kg with a stand and 47.5kg without a stand.
