SANUS, which is distributed in Australia by Milestone AV Technologies and in NZ by AV Supply Group, has announced the launch of the new Swivelling TV Base.

Designed to be compatible with the newly-announced Sonos home theatre speaker PLAYBASE, the Swivelling TV Base is a table-top TV base that recreates the sleek look and feel of a mounted TV. It provides up to 20.3cm of TV height adjustability, creating space to fit a Sonos PLAYBASE or PLAYBAR below the TV.

PLAYBASE has been designed for almost any TV that isn’t wall mounted and is a thin, powerful speaker that sits discreetly under the TV.

“In partnership with Sonos, we developed a product that would seamlessly integrate the Sonos PLAYBASE with the flat-panel TV, making the TV look like it’s hovering above the PLAYBASE,” says SANUS international senior director Ben Osborne.

The Swivelling TV Base works on all surfaces and provides 40° of swivel left to right. It has a matte finish to complement the look of today’s flat-panel TVs and includes cable management to help conceal unsightly power and HDMI cables.

“When someone installs these two products together they see the TV hovering above the PLAYBASE and the Swivelling TV Base essentially disappears to allow the TV and the speaker to be the heroes of the AV experience” says SANUS senior international marketing and product manager Rick van Bommel.

The Swivelling TV Base fits TVs 32-60in and can support up to 27kg. It features an easy and safe 20-minute, 3-step assembly that requires only a screwdriver, and is safety tested, UL Certified and includes a 10-year warranty.

It’s available March 7 and is coming soon to more AV retailers in early April.
