With limited stock on sale at select retail stores from today, the Samsung KN55S9C Curved OLED TV is an amazing leap forward in terms of picture quality and sharper colour contrast compared to Samsung’s LED TV, and represents a new way for Australians to immerse themselves in visual content.

Samsung’s Curved OLED TV range is engineered to captivate viewers through exceptional picture quality that is delivered through the latest in panel technology from Samsung and a picture experience almost impossible to deliver through flat panel televisions.  The KN55S9C is also the first Samsung TV to feature MultiView capabilities and stereo sound, allowing two people to watch two different sources at the same time and on the same screen using Samsung Active glasses, which include an audio.

“Australians will be among the first people in the world to experience Samsung’s Curved OLED TV technology, an innovation that represents a pivotal moment in our constant efforts to deliver an unmatched audio visual experience to our customers,” said Philip Newton, Vice President – Consumer Electronics, Samsung Electronics Australia.

“Following the launch of Samsung’s new range of Smart TVs earlier this year, we’re once again very proud to lead the Australian market by offering the first Curved OLED TVs for sale in Australia today.”

Samsung’s Curved OLED TV produces bright, awe-inspiring imagery and delivers breathtaking picture quality for a cinematic viewing experience in the home. The TV’s image response times are much faster than Samsung LED TVs and render motion blur and crosstalk virtually unrecognisable to the viewer. The self-emitting RGB sub-pixels are laid directly on the colour display panel, negating the requirement for a colour filter. Without the need for backlighting, the Samsung Curved OLED TV displays pictures with deep natural blacks and at an extremely high contrast ratio when compared to other Samsung LED TVs.

The Samsung OLED TV introduces users to advanced technology and features for a truly personalised and unique TV experience. With Samsung’s MultiView feature, introduced on a Samsung TV for the first time, the KN55S9C can display two separate viewing experiences simultaneously. Using MultiView and 3D Active glasses, people can watch two different sources of full-screen content, even in 3D, on the same display, with corresponding audio and controls^. Samsung’s 3D Active glasses come with built-in personal speakers that provide crisp, full stereo sound (two pairs included with purchase). While using MultiView, users can also switch between the two sources with the touch of a button and without changing glasses.

Samsung’s Curved OLED TV also incorporates Samsung Smart TV features like the Smart Hub interface, which organises entertainment and content into five convenient panels: On TV, Movies and TV Shows, Social, Apps as well as Photos, Videos and Music. The built-in S Recommendation^^ feature helps customers discover content, TV shows and movies that reflect their viewing habits. All models will be Evolutionary TVs, which gives users the ability to easily update hardware and software by purchasing an additional Evolution Kit designed to plug into the rear of the panel#.

Developed in partnership with Macquarie University, the curved KN55S9C OLED TV integrates the Voice Interaction (Natural Language) functionality also available in the 2013 range of Samsung Smart TVs. This intuitive platform is a recommendation engine for TVs to help consumers navigate the overwhelming amount of content available and is designed to understand and respond to commands in the distinctive Australian vocabulary.

The Voice Interaction technology can understand a question and speak back to the viewer in an Australian accent with the content recommendations. Using Voice Interaction users can ask the TV for details about their favourite TV shows or movies.

Samsung’s S-Recommendation gives consumers a unique way of discovering content based on their personal preferences. It analyses consumers’ past viewing habits over time to learn about their preferences so that it can recommend similar content.

The design of Samsung’s new Curved OLED TV creates a new and immersive experience for viewers when compared to flat panel screen. The elegantly crafted design is inspired by a ‘Timeless Arena’ in which the curved display is placed to emulate the curvature of an arena. The premium metallic frame adds style and sophistication to any setting for the TV. The ‘Timeless Arena’ design provides a floating canvas for OLED’s life-like colours and deep natural blacks. A single cable for almost all connections reduces clutter and completes the minimalistic design with a “clean back” finish.

New Additions to the UHD range
Samsung has also launched two new additions to the F9000 UHD TV range, including a 55-inch and 65-inch model. These new additions to the Samsung UHD family take home entertainment to a different level by delivering an impressive picture quality with a vivid, crystal-clear picture.

The F9000 UHD TV utilises Samsung’s proprietary Quadmatic Picture Engine, a four-step process including signal analysis, noise minimisation, UHD up-scaling and detail enhancement to  upscale HD or Full HD content. Both the TV and its software can be upgraded to be compatible with future standards by purchasing a separate Evolution Kit#.

With Samsung’s Precision Black Local Dimming technology, the F9000 UHD TV delivers amazing contrast and black levels by dimming LEDs in dark areas of the picture, making blacks darker without affecting brighter elements of the picture. It also features Micro Dimming Ultimate, which combines the use of a special algorithm and scanning technology for sharp images and outstanding contrast. The F9000 series comes with 3D technology as well as built-in Wi-Fi and an embedded camera for staying connected with friends. The TV’s fast quad-core processor enables true multitasking capabilities between content and apps for a premium Smart TV experience*.

The F9000 UHD TV comes with 2-way 2.2 channels which deliver a powerful 70-watt sound. This system provides a dynamic range of sounds for a commanding and outstanding experience to complement the UHD picture.

The 55-inch KN55S9C Curved OLED TV will be available through select retail stores from today for an RRP of $10,999.
