With AirPlay, any audio content currently playing on a compatible Apple product can be wirelessly pushed to the Digital Media Streamer for playback through the multi-room audio system with all the metadata going with it. Party guests can now easily play their favorite music through the host’s music system, they simply connect to the wireless network, press the AirPlay icon on their device and select the DMS-3.1 as the destination. AirPlay is enabled in all DMS-3.1 Digital Media Streamers shipping after 1 November, 2011. Russound dealers and installers can easily update their customers’ existing DMS 3.1 Digital Media Streamers at no charge by installing the new firmware. AirPlay works with iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch (2nd, 3rd and 4th generation), iPad 2 and iPad with iOS 4.2 or later, or Mac and PC with iTunes 10.1 or later.
