RTI develops new driver for Yamaha MusicCast wireless multi-room audio system
RTI, which is distributed by Connected Media Australia, has announced a two-way driver for the Yamaha MusicCast wireless multi-room audio system.
The new driver allows dealers to easily integrate the complete line-up of MusicCast-enabled audio components into RTI automation and control systems, providing customers with convenient control over their home audio experience.
“Yamaha has long been a favourite brand for RTI integrators and with MusicCast, the company has brought high-end media player functionality into a new range of products. We’re proud to offer integrators an RTI-developed driver that allows them to easily incorporate these devices into a unified control system for their customer,” says RTI vice president of global sales Mike Everett.

All MusicCast products introduced since 2015 can now be controlled by the driver, including wireless speakers that can be used as standalone streaming audio systems, AV receivers, wireless streaming amps, hi-fi receivers, powered network speakers and a wide range of soundbars.
The new driver allows users to select rooms and sources, and browse their music library and streaming services from the RTI interface of their choice. The driver also makes it easy to provide this functionality with the auto programming capabilities of Integration Designer APEX software for integrators.
“While RTI systems have for years been capable of controlling Yamaha home theatre systems, this driver adds new two-way control capabilities and substantially broadens the range of supported Yamaha models,” says Yamaha Corporation of American AV division general manager Robert Goedken.
“We are very grateful for our partnership with RTI and for their support of this integration. This gives custom integrators more flexibility than ever before.”
