Highlights at the show will include the company’s new T3-V+ and T2-C+ universal controllers, the feature sets of the XP-6 and XP-3 central processors and Apple integration with the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad via the new RTiPanel app. Also on display and available later this year will be RTI’s ST-7 handheld and RK-10 in-wall controllers, AD-4 distributed audio matrix switcher, vIRsa Mouse IR emitter and Virtual Panel.

Apple integration
RTI is bringing the power of its control solutions to the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad with the new RTiPanel app.

With the app installed on any of these Apple products, users will have complete control of RTI’s XP series of remote processors — including the flagship XP-8 and upcoming XP-3 and XP-6 — and all connected electronic systems from virtually anywhere in the world.

With the convenience of complete Apple integration, users are never out of reach of their home’s lighting, security, AV, or climate systems — adding to the flexibility of RTI’s expanding control solutions. For intuitive operation, the graphical user interface is completely customisable to any system via RTI’s Integration Designer software.

The result is an interface that matches the graphical style of an RTI handheld or in-wall controller so that users enjoy the same familiar look across all interfaces, including their Apple app.

T3-V+ Universal System Controller
The T3-V+ is a powerful controller wrapped in a contemporary design. The third generation of the award-winning T3 system controller, the T3-V+ is enhanced with an updated hard button configuration including five soft keys, which will allow for future custom button-engraving options from RTI.

The T3-V+ also features a revolutionary dual RF board technology, which will support both 433 MHz RF for one-way control and 2.4 GHz ZigBee for bidirectional communication with RTI processors and supported third-party electronics like music servers, lighting and web-based RSS feeds for convenient weather updates.

The T3-V+ offers a 9cm full-VGA touchscreen for eye-popping color and a completely customisable user interface for intuitive command over the entire electronics system. Integrated 802.11b/g wireless Ethernet and a built-in web browser allow the user to access Web pages and IP-addressable devices such as security cameras.

T2-C+ Universal System Controller
Sleek and elegant, the T2-C+ is the fourth generation of RTI’s T2 remote control platform. Now featuring the first OLED touchscreen ever used with a remote control, the T2-C+ provides a high-contrast display with a wide viewing angle.

The T2-C+ universal system controller represents an example of style and function blended together. The T2-C+ is loaded with features such as a dual-RF platform to offer communications with RTI central processors either one way at 433 MHz, or bidirectionally with compatible devices at 2.4 GHz, while 35 hard buttons provide tactile control of commonly-used functions.

XP-6 Central Processor
The XP-6 facilitates the integration of third-party devices into one seamless and cohesive system, with a variety of control options such as RS-232, relay, IP, and routable IR. Additional RTI accessories can be incorporated to allow wireless communication between an RTI remote control and the XP-6, even through walls or cabinets.

The processor features support for the RTI 433 MHz receivers for one-way RF communication and ZigBee 2.4 GHz transceivers can be incorporated for bidirectional communication between the RTI controller and central processor and supported devices such as A/V, security, lighting, and HVAC systems.

XP-3 Central Processor
With a robust 532 MHz i.MX processor and 128 MB of nonvolatile flash memory, the XP-3 improves the user experience by providing a high degree of control and automation. The processor offers a built-in astronomical time clock for time-based events and a built-in ZigBee RF transceiver to allow bidirectional communications with compatible RTI remote controls and third-party electronics.

The multipurpose I/O port accepts a standard IR emitter input, or can be used with RTI accessory devices, to sense voltage or video to manage the power status and deliver intelligent control of third-party connected devices.

RTI will also offer Manufacturer Training Sessions at CEDIA Expo 2010:

RTI Control System Orientation
Friday 10am–11.30am and Saturday 10am–11.30am.
This training will familiarize participants with the entire line of control solutions from RTI. From handheld and in-wall controllers to control processors and accessories, RTI offers control solutions to meet the unique needs of the custom installation professional.

Level 1 – Basic Programming with Integration Designer
Friday 12pm–1.30pm and Saturday 12pm–1.30pm.
Get familiar with RTI’s Integration Designer software. Designed to meet the programming demands of the custom installation industry, this software is used to program every RTI product. Level 1 will introduce participants to the programming process to customize virtually any RTI product, including basic GUI layout and IR control options.

Level 2 – Intermediate Programming with Integration Designer
Friday 2pm–3.30pm and Saturday 2pm–3.30pm.
This training will expand on the programming features available within Integration Designer. Advanced macro design, including RS-232 control, relays, and basic flag applications, will be covered in detail. Level 2 also features an open question-and-answer session to discuss participants’ current projects.

Level 3 – Advanced Programming with Integration Designer
Friday 4pm–5.30pm and Saturday 4pm–5.30pm.
Topics discussed in this training include two-way programming applications and programming the XP-8 control processor. The session will include an open question-and-answer format for any unique programming challenges participants encounter.
