RTI adds Apple integration via RTiPanel app

With the app installed on any of these Apple products, users can have complete control of RTI’s XP series of remote processors — including the flagship XP-8 and upcoming XP-3 and XP-6 — and all connected electronic systems from virtually anywhere in the world.

For intuitive operation, the graphical user interface is completely customisable to any system via RTI’s award-winning Integration Designer software.

With the convenience of complete Apple integration, users are never out of reach of their home or facility lighting, security, AV, or climate systems — adding to the flexibility of RTI’s expanding control solutions. End users are able to check in on their security systems from across the world, or turn off the home lights from work when realising they were left on and even set the perfect temperature before they arrive home in the evening.

Similarly, facility managers are always within reach of their AV systems while on the go. With the new RTiPanel app, users can do this and much more.

“The iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad are amazing, revolutionary devices that have redefined what is possible on the go. Not surprisingly, one of our most popular integration solutions has been our support for an assortment of third-party iPod docks. We are very excited to take this integration to the next level and bring the power of our control solutions to mobile devices with our RTiPanel app,” RTI vice president of sales and marketing Pete Baker says.

“Now RTI XP series users will be able to control and receive feedback from all of their systems, wherever they are, using a device they already own. Add to this the customisation of the interface which is made possible through our Integration Designer software and you’ve got an incredibly powerful control solution for remotely accessing your system.”

The RTiPanel app will allow an iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad to control an XP series remote processor. Multiple licencing options for controlling the XP-8, XP-6, and XP-3 include LAN licensing for local RTI system control, and Internet licencing for system control from virtually anywhere.

Unlike other control apps, RTiPanel offers simple configuration and complete customisation through RTI’s Integration Designer software. Considered by many integrators to be the most intuitive and versatile programming platform in the industry, Integration Designer is a powerful Microsoft Windows-based software platform that allows the entire RTI control system family to be easily programmed from any PC, while providing the essential tools to completely customise the look and feel of the interface.

This will allow integrators to apply a style to the Apple interface that is similar to that of an RTI handheld or in-wall controller, so that users may enjoy the same familiar look across all interfaces, including their Apple devices.
