Rithum has launched the Rithum Home app for iOS and Android, giving home owners remote control of heating, cooling and hot water through their existing Rithum installation.

The app mirrors the Rithum Stat interface already available on the wall, with each controlled zone displaying its own temperature setpoint and seven-day schedule. Home, Away and Holiday modes apply across the property, while the behaviour of each mode can be configured independently for each zone.

Scheduling continues to run locally on the Rithum Switch rather than through the cloud, allowing heating control to continue operating if the property loses its internet connection.

The launch is initially focused on Rithum Stat control, with additional functionality planned for future updates.

Rithum says the app is designed to address growing demand from home owners for smartphone control without requiring integrators to introduce a separate system. Rithum Home uses the same interface as the existing wall-mounted control and requires no additional hardware.

Alongside the app, My Rithum provides home owners with access to their system after installation while allowing the installer to retain control of the project. Once an installation is complete, the installer can issue an invitation to the home owner, who can then manage their Switches through their own account.

Configuration, specification and job management remain within the Rithum Project Portal, while My Rithum provides the client-facing platform.

My Rithum also adds configuration backup and restore capabilities, allowing a Switch setup to be saved and reapplied to the same unit or a replacement. Saved configurations can also be used as templates for subsequent installations.

“Every client asks for an app, and until now the honest answer was either no or a second system alongside the one you have just installed,” Rithum founder and chief executive Ryan Ovens says.

“This is the Rithum Switch in your pocket, and it’s included. The room still runs from the wall, as it always has; the app is simply for the times you are not standing in front of it.”
