Radius Global Market Research has published the results of research that evaluated the readability of content displayed on 70” screens in average-sized classrooms.

Students aged 12 to 22 were divided into groups of approximately 30 and asked to read typical educational content, including charts and text-based information. This content was displayed on a top-selling 70” flat screen panel in a traditional 8.3m by 8.4m classroom. Students were then asked to write down six short items on information based on what they saw.

The research found more than 50% of students in each country surveyed found the contents displayed on 70” screens difficult to read and more than half of students wrote down at least one item incorrectly on 70” screens

The research findings support the ‘4/6/8 rule’ for display size recommendations and were revealed as Epson announces the new EB-710Ui laser ultra-short throw projector, designed to enhance the quality of educational learning.

The EB-710Ui will be rolled out worldwide from the end of October and provides better visibility in the classroom for images in large sizes of up to 100”. It also features 4,000lm of brightness, WUXGA resolution and a laser light source that provides consistent performance and frees customers from lamp replacement concerns.
