Although the initial support is targeted for CBUS source devices, Quantum Data expects to deliver the full suite of CBUS compliance tests—adding support for sinks and dongle—in second quarter of 2012. An official announcement will follow this preliminary announcement when the CBUS source solution is available—expected in just a few weeks.

This initial support for CBUS source devices includes the Link Layer electrical and timing tests specified in sections 3.3.1 through 3.3.23; all applicable “Common” MSC and DDC tests related to source devices in specified section 6.3, as well as the RCP tests in section 3.2.7.

The CBUS compliance test will be supported through a new MHL CBUS Compliance module that can be installed within the existing 980 Gen 3 chassis. No external measuring devices are required.
