Both MHL 2.1 solution suites have been approved by the MHL consortium.

Depending on the desired tests, a test point adapter and two 980 modules are used:

• 980 HDMI Protocol Analyser module
• 980 MHL CBUS Compliance module.

The comprehensive solution covers source tests in MHL CTS sections: 3.1 (partial), 3.2, 3.3, and 6.3; sink tests in sections 4.1 (partial), 4.2, 4.3, and 6.3; dongle tests in sections 5.1 (partial), 5.2, 5.3 and 6.3. For a complete list of supported tests refer to the 980 HDMI Protocol Analyzer data sheet and the 980 MHL CBUS Compliance data sheet. HDCP Compliance tests for MHL source, sink, and dongle devices are also available. The HDCP tests use the Quantum Data 882EA test instrument.

The 980 MHL compliance solutions are ideal for pre-testing and self-testing when permitted. They provide developers with the necessary test results and detailed capture logs to enable thorough investigation of anomalies. The test results and raw capture data can be disseminated to other colleagues and subject matter experts for analysis. The 980 test instrument is not required to view these results and captures—only the free 980 GUI Manager is necessary for remote analysis. Importantly, unlike other solutions, the 980 MHL compliance test solutions do not require third party external measuring devices.
