Primeview’s PRV42WRCHDBT supports HDBaseT distribution of uncompressed HD video, audio and controls via a single 100m/328ft LAN cable. The Primeview display will be at InfoComm 2012, 13-15 June in the HDBaseT Alliance booth (#C6038).

Addressing the need for quality transmission over long distances, the Primeview display is a 42” LCD screen that receives 1080P video, audio and controls via one Ethernet cable from any HDBaseT enabled transmitter. It features low power consumption, an LED backlight and is rated for non-stop commercial usage.

Primeview designed its new video board to support the robust bandwidth of signals enabled by the HDBaseT standard. Primeview also plans to develop a full line of HDBaseT embedded screens that will be compatible with any manufacturer using the standard HDBaseT TX transmitter chip in its devices. Developed by Valens Semiconductor, HDBaseT technology is optimised for video applications and can connect all entertainment devices in a setting by providing the 5Play feature set—full, uncompressed HD video, audio, Ethernet, power (100W) and controls.

To further support development of HDBaseT technology, Primeview recently joined the HDBaseT Alliance, the cross-industry alliance formed by LG Electronics, Samsung Electronics, Sony Pictures Entertainment and Valens Semiconductor to standardize HDBaseT technology for uncompressed HD multimedia content distribution. Primeview joins market leaders from various segments of the digital media ecosystem to define future specifications, drive marketing efforts and provide the industry with HDBaseT-enabled devices.

“We’ve watched closely as HDBaseT technology has rapidly expanded into different sectors of the industry and observed as many companies joined the Alliance and developed products,” says Primeview president and chief executive Shay Giuili.

“Industry demand continues to grow for HDBaseT connectivity and we believe it will revolutionise our product offerings, starting with our recently developed HDBaseT-embedded display. Moreover, as Alliance members we can provide our expertise to actively shape the technology to best accommodate our customers’ needs.”

Members supporting HDBaseT technology play a vital role in defining the future of multimedia transmission and data communication in the commercial AV (audio/video), consumer electronics and content provider industries.

“Alliance membership is increasing as companies witness the growing demand for HDBaseT technology and the direct benefits of collaborating with other big players in the industry,” says HDBaseT Alliance marketing chair Micha Risling.

“The addition of digital signage display developers like Primeview diversifies our membership base and ensures we receive input from all related industries when developing specifications.”
