Pioneer, which is distributed by Powermove, today unveiled two new receivers, the 5.1-channel VSX-832 and 7.2-channel VSX-932, incorporating Pioneer’s MCACC automatic sound adjustment technology.

The AV receivers feature convenient audio streaming via Chromecast built-in, DTS Play-Fi, Spotify, TIDAL, Deezer and TuneIn over a stable dual-band WiFi connection. They also include 384kHz/32-bit DAC, a refined GUI, and video pass-through of Dolby Vision, HDR10, and BT.2020 via HDCP 2.2-compliant HDMI.

FireConnect powered by Blackfire delivers wireless multi-room audio, allowing network and analogue sources connected to the AV receiver to be played on optional speakers. Playback can be controlled anywhere in the house by using Chromecast-enabled apps on iPhone, iPad, Android phones, tablets, Chromebook and the Chrome browser on Mac, Windows and Linux PCs.

The VSX-832 is the first Pioneer AV receiver to support Dolby Atmos and DTS:X object-based audio reproduction through 5.1 channels, while the 7.2-channel VSX-932 plays these formats through a 5.2.2-channel layout.

Surround Enhancer creates ‘virtual’ surround speakers, with DSP algorithms that exploit this principle and Head-Related Transfer Function (HRTF). The technology works effectively not only for Dolby Atmos formats but also with conventional audio encoded on DVD or CD up mixed for playback through a Dolby Atmos enabled speaker system. Reflex Optimiser technology resolves the phase lag and optimises the performance of these speakers for clear sound imaging at the viewing position.

The receivers support all the popular hi-res audio formats over the local network and USB including 192kHz/24-bit FLAC, WAV, AIFF and ALAC, along with DSD 2.8MHz/5.6 MHz. They also play Dolby TrueHD up to 192kHz/24-bit via USB input and 5GHz/2.4GHz Dual-band WiFi High-fidelity sound sources can be played wirelessly over a WiFi connection offering 5GHz (11a/n) and 2.4GHz (11b/g/n) bands.
