This application is the result of more than a year’s work as part of a joint effort between a UK and local Australian software development team. The ProntoTunes application has been made possible through the work of ProntoProjects.com – an international Philips Pronto application developer who adds this great application to a growing list of other Pronto two-way interface applications.

The ProntoTunes two-way interface application allows users of Apple iTunes, Apple TV and Apple AirPort Express control their music experience anywhere in their home or office all from the convenience of the Philips Pronto’s touch screen.

The ProntoTunes two-way application gives a user complete control to browse and select any file stored in an Apple iTunes or Apple TV library while roaming anywhere in the home or office using the Philips Pronto’s secure Wi-Fi technology. The user can simply scroll through the list and play any the of available albums, artists, genres, playlists, movies, TV shows and more using the exclusive Philips scroll wheel.

Large cover art is shown for the currently playing file whether it be music, movie or a TV show. Using a touch screen keyboard the user can quickly search through artists, albums and songs. Music zones can simply be toggled on and off when using Apple Airport Express or Apple TVs.

“End users and systems integrators far and wide have been waiting a long time for a low cost application to create a seamless control experience between multi-room sound systems and the highly popular Apple products,” QualiFi business manager for control products Joe Salamanca says.

“It is widely accepted that Apple iTunes is the de facto standard in digital media playback, so we’re thrilled that Pronto customers can now enjoy their digital media through the convenience of a single touch screen control system. It allows them to turn on their entertainment system in multiple areas of their home or business, select and play any artist, album, track, video and more.”
