Setting a standard in both design and engineering, the AntumbraDisplay combines buttons and a central LCD screen display to allow users to take control of their environment and adjust the lighting, blinds, audio visual (AV) or air conditioning (AC) to meet their exact requirements.

Ideal for residential, commercial and hospitality projects, the new LCD screen display presents multiple pages of functions and system information to the user, including current room temperature and AC set point; lighting levels; fan speed; blind position; or a room status.

Rob Fletcher, General Manager of Philips Lighting Australia and New Zealand, commented: “To ensure Antumbra sets a standard from a design and an engineering perspective, we took a collaborative approach in its development, consulting widely with Philips global design teams as well as our customers and partner network. Philips Dynalite in Australia played a crucial role in the development of the Antumbra range, producing a contemporary designed user interface that embodies our design philosophy of striving for superior quality, form and usability in order to meet people’s needs and desires.”

Philips Global Product Manager, Daniel Walker, added:  “By incorporating an LCD display screen, AntumbraDisplay increases both the functionality and usability of the interface.  With over 20 function points now available per user interface, we have opened up a range of new and exciting application possibilities that will have significant appeal, particularly for those in the residential and hospitality markets.”

The completed Antumbra range now comprises the AntumbraButton, AntumbraTouch and AntumbraDisplay. The Button model is a mechanical button-press UI, while the Touch variant uses capacitive glass touch technology. The latest addition to the family – Display – is based on the Button concept, but with the addition of an LCD screen in the centre of the panel. As with the existing Antumbra range customisation is a key aspect of the design, with a wide selection of finish options for facias, rims and buttons including a new Aluminium metal button finish to meet exacting client requirements. An online tool has also been launched to allow users to be creative with their very own panel design.
