Originally designed as a project-specific creation to meet the requirements for a luxury high-density residential apartment complex, EnvisionWeb has subsequently been broadened in scope and further developed by Philips Dynalite into a sophisticated user-interface for mass-market appeal. The result is an attractive application that delivers effortless control of home systems—suited for applications varying from single dwellings to high-end boutique apartments.

EnvisionWeb enables a number of home system settings to be integrated into preset sequences that can be run locally or remotely. For example, a ‘good morning’ sequence could wake the family through a combination of preferred lighting and blinds settings in conjunction with ideal heat/cooling settings. It could even turn on the TV and radio. Similarly, a ‘welcome home’ sequence could be used remotely to illuminate a driveway and activate internal lights to a desired relaxing ambience, complete with mood music and optimized temperature settings.

Individual lighting channels can be adjusted separately or lighting presets can be selected by area. HVAC integration displays the current ambient temperature and allows the user to set the preferred apartment temperature. There is also a choice of ‘performance’, ‘economy’ and ‘manual’ settings, plus a further selection of automatic or direct fan-speed control. Temperature settings can be increased or decreased and in ‘manual’ mode, the HVAC can bet set to ‘high’, ‘medium’, ‘low’ or ‘off’.

According to Philips Dynalite Global Product Marketing Manager for Integration, Interoperability & Software, Phil Main, EnvisionWeb has been designed as a multi-platform user interface that supports a wide range of web browsers. “In practice, this enables users to choose their preferred device to control their home system settings via an intuitive and attractive webpage,” Phil says.

“EnvisionWeb can be used from the clients’ choice of PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone and allows them to control their home both locally and remotely.”

EnvisionWeb is easy to configure and straightforward to maintain. During system commissioning, the software creates a configuration file providing all default settings needed to establish a fully-operational EnvisionWeb system. The administrator’s dedicated configuration and system management screens are both simple and instinctive to use. This facilitates the editing of existing user-access settings and also allows new users to be added easily and quickly.

Communicating with the Philips Dynalite control system via an Ethernet gateway or PC node, EnvisionWeb is a software application that resides on a server and the users log into the system via their preferred control device. Connection can be achieved either locally through a building local area network infrastructure or remotely via the cloud, which also allows remote interaction. The user can see at a glance the current status of their system in EnvisionWeb and can fine-tune settings to meet specific mood requirements.

EnvisionWeb is available from all Philips Dynalite approved resellers.
