Logo-LINNRecreate the perfect listening environment with Linn’s new Space Optimisation. A world first for Linn, the new Space Optimisation is now compatible with a wide range of high-end speaker brands in an effort to support smooth multi-brand functionality.

In the past to gain the best possible listening experience in a lounge room audio system, it meant that the speakers had to be positioned further out and generally in very unpractical positions. Now with Linn’s Space Optimisation you are able to practically position your speakers and through advanced technologies alter the energy outputs and frequencies to get the best possible performance out of your gear.

The Linn Space Optimisation is available as a free software download for all Linn DS owners. For users looking to get a better performance out of their existing speaker systems and use Space Optimisation, they only need to add one of Linn’s DS units. Linn DS units start at the Linn Sneaky DS, an integrated amplifier and digital streamer.

Space Optimisation uses sophisticated acoustic modelling to build up a complete picture of how your speakers, their placement, and the unique characteristics of your room interact to affect the sound you hear. It then precisely identifies frequencies that are artificially distorted by your environment, and reduces their energy to reveal the music that would otherwise be hidden.

Each speaker is as unique as the next and can dramatically alter the sound reproduction when coupled with different brands and the interactions within your surroundings. Through advanced technology, Linn’s Space Optimisation models these interactions by taking account of the characteristics of your speakers (regardless of what brand it is), and the position of each drive unit and the response of bass reflex ports to set each speaker up for audio perfection.

All Linn systems have Space Optimisation built in, and it is also available as a free software upgrade to all Linn DS owners too. Linn’s Space Optimisation currently supports brands such as B&W, Box, Epos, Harbeth, KEF, Kudos, Monitor, Naim, Neat, Paradigm, PMC, ProAc, Rega, RussellK, and Spendor. With plans underway, Linn is working to support more brands including ATC, Audio Physic, Canton, Dali, Dynaudio, Focal, JBL, Martin Logan, Monitor Audio,Neat, Quad, Sonus, Totem, and Wilson Audio.

Once it has recognised your speakers it intelligently combines this information with your room’s acoustics to optimise the sound uniquely for your speakers while removing unwanted distortion to produce the best possible performance and reveal the true sound of the music.

Before now, there have only been two choices; place your speakers in the ideal location for sound, or choose a more practical location that compromises sound quality. Now with Linn Space Optimisation, you can recreate pristine sound every time in any position.
