The new range includes the new 3D DMP-BWT835 Blu-Ray recorder with an impressive 1TB HDD as well as the DMP-PWT635GL and DMP-PWT530GL Blu-ray disc players with HDD recording capability, which also record onto a 1TB and 500GB HDD.

All models feature a quick start up time of one second and an electronic program guide (EPG) screen that can be displayed on a smart phone and tablet for greater connectivity.

Each of the new models features Panasonic’s enhanced VIERA Connect IPTV platform, which easily connects to popular social networking sites and services including YouTube, Facebook and Twitter; and offers Skype functionality; as well as ABC iView, Ovation and SBS ON DEMAND for an even wider variety of internet content from the comfort of your living room.

Using multi-room broadcast streaming, users can take full advantage of the twin tuners on all models and watch one channel via their TV and send another recorded program or live broadcast wirelessly to an Android tablet, iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, and then watch this content wherever they choose in the home.

With built-in wireless capability and DLNA server/client functionality, all models can act as a hub allowing the user to stream content such as images, music and movies wirelessly for viewing on other DLNA-compatible devices in the home; as well as receiving content from the home PC.

Panasonic Australia audio product marketing manager Anthony Smyth says, “This year’s range of Panasonic Blu-ray recorders offer consumers even greater flexibility when viewing in the home. With a quick start up time and the convenience of an EPG that can be displayed on your smartphone or tablet, users can easily set a different program for timer record without interrupting the one they are watching. For added ease-of-use, remote recording programs using your iOS/Android smartphone will be available from July 2013.”

All models have twin HD tuners, allowing users to record two HD broadcasts at the same time. The DMP-BWT835 and the DMP-PWT635 sport a new silver design to match the new VIERA TVs. Pure sound on all models mode halts movement during disc playback in noise-generating parts such as the HDD and tuner, and minimises cooling fan movement, to produce crisp, clear sound.
