NuVo releases API for Wireless Audio System

In a related development, NuVo also announced that the latest upgrade to the Wireless Player App for both iOS and Android could now be used as an “app within an app” with Crestron, Bitwise, AMX, and other home automation control apps that support launching embedded URL schemes. The feature lets users access the Wireless Audio Systems’ control features without having to exit the other maker’s control application.

“These measures will help make our Wireless Audio System the installer’s first choice for wireless home audio,” says NuVo vice president and general manager David Rodarte.

“In many cases, dealers need to be able to integrate multiple makers’ products under a unified control system to deliver a fully customised solution that exceeds their customers’ expectations. We know they’ve been anticipating this software release. Many were asking for an integration path, even before the product hit the market.”

According to David, the API will enable dealers to set up their control programs to operate the functions of the Wireless Audio System, including source and zone selection, queue editing, volume control for any or all zones, treble and bass adjustment and other features.

It will allow access to all the music content available to the Wireless Audio System, including internet radio services, networked storage devices with digital audio files and Bluetooth linked content. The Wireless Audio System can play all popular digital audio formats as well as high resolution (24-bit, 96KHz) recordings.
