NuVo announces new software for Music Port and Music Port Elite streaming audio servers
“The new Music Port software represents a significant step forward for our Music Port products,” NuVo product manager for audio Walt Zerbe says.
“It offers the most comprehensive collection of new and upgraded features since the streaming servers were introduced.”
According to Walt, Version 5.0’s improvements can be separated into three areas: Additions, enhancements, and improvements that impact both the Music Port and Music Porte Elite models.

The new software supports playing a mixed queue of songs from multiple sources, including from a user’s own library and both Rhapsody and Spotify. The ability to store libraries on the Cloud, a feature previously available only to Music Port Elite owners, will now also be included for Music Port users, as well.
Other enhancements that users will enjoy with the new software include added control for SIRIUS/XM and Pandora services, Rhapsody users will notice added fidelity due to the addition of ACC stream support, and users of NuVo’s beta version of Spotify will see a new menu hierarchy that boasts increased responsiveness. More importantly, and much requested, the Music Port players will now also support multiple Pandora, Rhapsody and Spotify accounts.
Version 5.0 also offers several improvements to earlier software versions, including improved overall system functionality, access to additional TuneIn stations, and an updated OS X sync tool.
Leading the lineup of new features for users in the USA and Canada is the addition of Slacker Radio as a music source. Slacker Radio offers both free and premium membership levels, covering every imaginable genre. Both membership levels are supported with Version 5.0, and multiple accounts are supported, as well.
For those in Australia and New Zealand, Version 5.0 supports Amazon Cloud Sync and Pandora.
To take advantage of these features, and more, customers can update to the latest version via NuVo’s Music Port web client with the combined update to the Music Port iOS app (version 5) on the app store (no Android app update is necessary).
