Newport wSeries transmitters
To utilise your existing Wi-Fi network, Newport (USA) has released its new wSeries transmitters for monitoring temperature, humidity and barometric pressure while also including inputs for dual thermocouples and dual analogue process signals. The transmitter modules are weatherproof, wall mountable and battery powered using standard alkaline batteries.
To install a system, you simply place transmitters at each measuring point, and position external sensors where needed then turn on the system. Data is then available on the network via the free software installed on one PC which becomes a ‘virtual server’. When simply configured with the field transmitters, data is accessible on any PC on the network through their web browser. Data is logged to a system hard drive, and if activated, email, and SMS alarms can be sent when conditions change.
Battery life will extend to 4 years with a measuring interval of 2 minutes or above, and batteries are user replaceable – an alarm in the system is activated for low battery before the system stops.

The system includes all features that are normally associated with a logging and alarm system, such as data graphing, input calibration functions, archiving, and interaction through web browser software, scaling of inputs and email/SMS alarms to mobile phones. These units are fully approved to the Australian standard for RF.
