The new MBX streamers from Russound are now available to be shipped due to its success at CEDIA 2018. The new streamers are designed to be everyday solutions for installers. The MBX-AMP streamer includes a high-performance amp while the MBX-PRE does not.

Russound chief executive Charlie Porritt says that size doesn’t matter when it comes to the MBX streamers.

The Russound Team designed the MBX-PRE and MBX-AMP streaming audio players to be easy-to-use, true high-fidelity components and equipped them with an ultra-fast processor for superb response.

Music content in a users smart phone, tablet or any other mobile device is instantly available through the MBX-PRE or the MBX-AMP with their entertainment system or TV at the tap of a fingertip with the free Russound app.

The MBX-PRE and the MBX-AMP front panel controls allow customers to control volume, play/pause and have a new feature called “favourites”. This enables MBX-PRE or MBX-AMP to play the last tune playing whenever it is turned back on and easily change / select what favourites to store.

Built on a fast next-gen processor, the MBX-PRE and MBX-AMP provide ultra-fast response with tasks like album art and menu browsing and they provide hassle-free synching and grouping among any rooms.

With both, the MBX-PRE and MBX-AMP the availability of digital and analogue inputs and out-puts allows the addition of up to two external sources if needed and permits simple connection to any external amp or receiver.

Both streamers have a 12V trigger to enable activation of external amplifiers and the handy USB input that allows for the easy plug-in of external hard drives or flash drives for an additional source of content.

The MBX-PRE and MBX-AMP work with all MCA series Russound controllers, as well as any other amplifier or receiver. They also give users the option of Bluetooth or WiFi for streaming audio, and provide app control and voice control options to any system.

MBX-PRE and the MBX-amp are also voice compatible with Alexa and Google Home via built-in Chromecast and they both provide streaming support for Tidal, Deezer and any audio through Chromecast (built-in), adding to the prior version’s Spotify, SiriusXM, SiriusXM for Business, TuneIn, vTuner, UPnP, and Apple AirPlay.

The high-performance amplifier in the MBX-AMP delivers a robust 50W per channel at 8Ω and 70W per channel at 4Ω.
