The new commercial line includes new commercial versions of NetStreams MediaLinX AV encoder and ViewLinX decoder. Additionally, both these products will support NetStreams new MotionXT video stream compression and the ViewLinX will support DualDrive intelligent source selection technology.

Netstreams is distributed by Amber Technology in Australia.

Multimedia distribution in commercial applications has grown more complex with the variety of digital and analogue sources over the past few years. New installations must handle multiple source formats, from VGA to component and s-video. These formats need to be rendered optimally on all displays regardless of connection. Traditional solutions, such as matrix switches, can only accomplish this with separate scalers or multiple wiring sets for each source format, neither of which are cost effective solutions.

“This year we’ve continued to innovate and drive new functionality into our IP-based multimedia distribution solutions, solving real problems that commercial integrators are experiencing,” says marketing and business development vice president Sanjay Castelino. “The new commercial multimedia distribution products will help our partners simplify the design and reduce the cost of delivering HD content throughout any facility.”

NetStreams new commercial IP-based multimedia distribution products greatly simplify design and installation for integrators. The products add the ability to deploy multimedia content applications and get the optimal display output, either VGA or component without the added expense and complexity of scalers or additional wiring. Additionally, video stream compression helps to reduce the network infrastructure costs associated with distributing video over the network allowing end users to leverage existing infrastructure investment in some cases.

The new MediaLinX AV encoder (MLAV9300-CS) provides real time encoding of AV signals from a video source, including digital signage players, set-top boxes, DVD players. It converts a variety of audio, video, and control signal formats into an AV stream that can then be distributed over a TCP/IP network.

The new units feature BNC connectors and balanced audio inputs within the same 1U high, half-rack wide form factor of the current MediaLinX AV encoder.

The ViewLinX provides real time decoding of a TCP/IP uncompressed AV stream from a standard TCP/IP network into an analogue or S/PDIF audio signal and a component, composite, S-Video or VGA video signal for output to a display. It features BNC connections, balance line audio outputs, and DualDrive source selection technology. DualDrive technology allows an integrator to connect both component and VGA connectors to a single display and drive the appropriate connection based on the source signal format. The ViewLinX automatically detects the source signal and drives the appropriate output, switching the display’s input automatically.

This ensures that a variety of source inputs will be display optimally on any connected display.

NetStreams’ new, MotionXT technology, is a video stream compression solution which allows synchronized, high-quality HD video to stream over a 100MB network, rather than a gigabit network. For many applications, this can reduce the network infrastructure cost, as multiple HD streams can now fit on a single gigabit link.

All of these IP-based products are based on NetStreams’s patent-pending StreamNet technology and are compatible with NetStreams DigiLinX audio, video and control systems. The new commercial line is also designed to compliment other NetStreams products, including audio distribution and control.
