In addition, Lindsay has played a crucial role in representing the interests of NECA and the wider industry in relation to a large number of government reviews and enquiries arguing persuasively for sensible and long term change to legislation and administrative processes.
Mr Griffiths went on to say that NECA is also very appreciative of the role that Lindsay has played in the development of the ACT Chapter, including the estab lishment of its premises in Fyshwick, and in relation to the establishment of the new Queensland Chapter operations in Brisbane.
At the national level, Lindsay led the development of NECAs Environmental Sustainability Advisory Group and contributed significantly to the development of a number of new policies and systems on behalf of NECAs National Council.
Mr Le Compte said that he had greatly valued the opportunity to lead NECA in NSW and the ACT, and to represent the interests of its members across a wide field.
“I will leave the organisation with some regret, but at the same time knowing that it is pointed in the right direction and with the capacity to grow and prosper further”, he says.
“In these tough economic times, a strong and vibrant industry association is what is needed to provide business, technical, training and operational support to contractors and their employees and NECA fulfils that role as Austra lia’s leading electrotechnology contracting industry association”, he says.
Mr Griffiths said that Mr Barry Dawson, NECAs deputy chief executive will act in Mr Le Compte’s position pending finalisation of recruitment action.
