Outdoor speaker manufacturer, NEAR, a division of Bogen Communications, has announced the release of a power amplifier designed to deliver a lot of power to outdoor speakers.

The NEAR 7XL  is a two channel Class D amp that delivers 700W per channel… enough power to get a noise complaint from someone who lives blocks away.

It is capable of either low impedance (4/8Ω) or 70V operation.

NEAR has designed the 7XL to be an easy set-up for integrators. The amp has 16 preset configurations programmed-in, perfectly crossed-over, equalised and power limited for the most common combinations of NEAR speakers.

Offering a full array of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) features, it allows integrators to control and optimise the performance of outdoor loudspeaker systems.

The DSP provides high and low-pass filters (crossovers) with slope and alignment control, 7-band parametric equalisation, time delay and dynamic range control.

The 7XL amplifier is expected to ship to dealers in January 2017.
