4K Studios is repurposing and enhancing over 30 full-length 35mm films which will be available in many territories on UltraFlix™, the streaming content channel that is quickly becoming the World’s largest source for a wide array of 4K Ultra HD content.

With the agreement, UltraFlix subscribers can enjoy a selection of action/thriller, comedy, drama and family movies, previously available only on SD and HD formats, now in pristine 4K. In addition, 4K Studios has secured content arrangements with a number of award-winning producers from around the globe to add dozens of nature, travel, lifestyle and extreme sports documentaries to the service’s library.

“I’m confident we’ll soon experience a major surge in 4K TV sales as NanoTech takes aggressive preemptive steps to offer end users with a vast 4K content library this early in the game,” says NanoTech executive vice president of sales and marketing Aaron Taylor.

“Our 4K film scanners are running around the clock, breathing new life into vast 35mm content libraries. The result will be a broad and deep catalog of enhanced 4K content complementing the native 4K titles currently available.”

NanoTech’s UltraFlix streaming service can be used to deliver 4K Ultra HD content on a variety of TVs and devices, including NanoTech’s Nuvola NP-1 4K streaming media player. The Nuvola NP-1, which is available with UltraFlix and several video, gaming and social media applications pre-installed, is a multifunction device that can stream videos in HD, SD and 3D formats as well as 4K Ultra HD. Because the NP-1 uses an Android-based operating system, users have fast, easy web access and can also access thousands of video games and applications from the nVidia Tegra Zone and the Google Play Store.

NanoTech also offers a commercial-grade 4K Ultra HD video service, ProFlix UHD that can be bundled and pre-loaded on NanoTech’s NP-C commercial 4K streaming media players for 4K Ultra HD demonstrations and displays for retail outlets and at trade shows.

“4K Studios ability to create pristine 4K digital masters from our library of 35mm films has presented us with a whole new monetisation opportunity,” says Multicom Entertainment Group founder Irv Holender.

“Not only can these movies and shows be enjoyed as the cinematographer has always intended, our firm will also receive amazing-quality HD master files which can be further monetised on other delivery platforms.”
