Modern AV solutions need to be flexible and high-performance. Sean Carroll looks at what Blustream offers in the commercial space and how it integrates with the Jands suite of products.
A legacy of innovation and customer-focused development

Blustream entered the AV industry ten years ago, initially focusing on filling gaps in the HDBaseT residential market. Over the years, continuous innovation and strategic collaboration with Jands have enabled the brand to expand into the commercial AV space, offering premium solutions tailored to a variety of venues.
Blustream’s roots in residential AV helped shape its meticulous product design approach according to Jands business development manager Christopher Ling: “The residential space fostered a close relationship between customers and integrators, which allowed Blustream to identify pain points and work directly with installers to solve them. That same philosophy has carried over into its commercial offerings.”
Next-generation video-over-IP solutions
Blustream recently launched the IP300 Series, a video-over-IP solution designed to distribute 4K HDR video and USB 2.0 with less than one frame of latency over a 1Gb network. With both transmitters (BLU-IP300UHD-TX) and receivers (BLU-IP300UHD-RX), the series provides integrators with future-proof, scalable technology for venues such as corporate boardrooms, conference centres and classrooms.
“The IP300 Series delivers 4K resolution content at 60Hz with a 4:4:4 colour space, all over a 1Gb pipe. It’s been a game-changer for integrators,” Chris says.
The recent addition of a wall plate transmitter makes the series even more versatile, ideal for settings like school halls or video conferencing rooms where HDMI transport is required over the network.
Seamless wireless presentation with BYOD support
Blustream’s WMF51 Wireless Presentation Switch caters to the growing demand for bring your own device (BYOD) support, enabling collaboration through AirPlay, Miracast, Chromecast and HDMI/USB dongles. The switch allows multiview presentations and video scaling, giving users a variety of connection options that adapt to their needs.
Chris notes that many users are comfortable with dongles since they don’t require software installation: “But by also enabling direct WiFi hotspot access, users can connect by entering an IP address in their browser – no dongle is needed.”
The WMF51 also includes a third-party application for seamless deployment on Windows devices, making it ideal for large-scale enterprise rollouts. With HDBaseT technology securing point-to-point connections, venues remain isolated from external networks.
“Even when internet access is provided, the network stays secure, and with Shure’s AES-256 encryption on audio devices, we offer another critical layer of protection,” Chris adds.
Expanding visual creativity with the MV41 Multiview Switch
Blustream’s MV41 four-way HDMI switcher offers exceptional flexibility in displaying multiple video sources, making it ideal for retail displays, conference venues and digital signage. The MV41 supports both picture-in-picture and quad-screen modes, enabling dynamic visual layouts to suit various use cases.
“A retail store might want to combine a 40” signage screen with a smaller, angled display to create something visually striking,” Chris explains.
“The MV41 makes that kind of creative setup possible.”
Extended USB connectivity for modern collaboration
To meet the growing need for extended connectivity, Blustream’s UEX3C-KIT USB extender provides USB 3.2 signal extension up to 100m over a single Cat6A cable. This solution is particularly useful in video conferencing setups (BYOD/meeting) or other applications involving multiple USB-powered devices, offering transmission speeds of up to 5Gbps.
“Blustream’s USB extension solutions have really expanded our AV offering,” Chris says.
“We can now integrate Shure’s audio solutions with the rest of the collaboration ecosystem, providing a robust package to integrators and end users.”
Local expertise with global impact
While Blustream celebrates its tenth anniversary, the company remains committed to the collaborative mindset that defined its early success in the residential AV market. As the exclusive distributor of Blustream in Australia and New Zealand, Jands provides the technical support and design expertise necessary to assist integrators and end users.
“At Jands, we have a highly capable technical operations team. Whenever an integrator or end user needs support, we work closely with Blustream to find the best solution,” Chris explains
Jands offer integrators the tools they need to deliver high-quality, reliable AV systems across a diverse range of venues – from corporate boardrooms and retail spaces to education facilities and conference centres.
