MoCA Access now available
The Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA) has introduced MoCA Access, a new broadband access specification based on the MoCA 2.5 standard.
Capable of 2.5Gbps actual data rates, MoCA Access leverages the existing in-building coaxial cabling. It is point-to-multipoint, serving up to 63 modems (clients) and is designed to co-exist with legacy services, such as TV, DOCSIS, and cellular (4G/5G) technologies.
The operating frequency range is 400MHz – 1675MHz and latency is less than 5ms, while throughput is up to 2.5Gbps downstream and 2Gbps upstream.

MoCA Access is a fibre extension technology, making it well suited for operators and ISPs that are installing fibre-to-the-basement (FTTB) or fibre deep into the network and want to use the existing coax for connection to each apartment or unit.
MoCA Access also appeals to commercial integrators in industries such as hospitality/hotels, restaurants, offices or any other buildings wired with coax.
MoCA Access supports standard traffic shaping and QoS up to eight traffic classes. It also provides strong security, three transmission power modes with 45dB, 55dB or 65dB link budgets and power saving modes.
