Mitsubishi dual-lamp installation projector
These are the first models in the Mitsubishi Electric projector line-up to use dual-lamp systems. The XD8100U and WD8200U have been designed for continuous operation, making them ideal for use in areas where images need to run 24/7 such as in airports or control rooms.
The WD8200U’s resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels reproduces widescreen picture content perfectly at a stunning 6500 ANSI lumens. The XD8100U takes the image brightness to even greater heights, offering XGA resolution pictures at a brilliant 7000 ANSI lumens.
A ‘Lamp Relay’ function allows each lamp in the projectors to be alternately turned off for a set period of time, ensuring non-stop operation while at the same time extending lamp life. The projectors also feature an automatic self-cleaning filter and heat-pipe cooling system for extra durability and less downtime for maintenance.

“Mitsubishi Electric has always prided itself on making reliable products that are engineered to keep running over long stretches of time,” Mitsubishi Electric visual information systems senior manager Stuart Baker says.
“These new projectors with their dual-lamp design, self-cleaning filter and simple heat-pipe cooling systems offer users excellent picture quality and exceptional durability”.
For enhanced picture quality, both the XD8100U and WD8200U include an advanced image processing technology developed by Mitsubishi Electric. The Super Resolution feature analyses blurred components of low resolution images, then estimates the high resolution data not included in the original image and corrects the quality accordingly, creating sharp images with excellent detail.
Advanced geometric correction provides installers with greater freedom when setting up the projectors. The XD8100U and WD8200U have both Keystone and Cornerstone correction for adjusting trapezoidal and diagonal distortion, while the Curved Surface correction allows for images to be projected accurately onto curved or round surfaces such as pillars.
The XD8100U and WD8200U have Edge Blending and Colour Matching functions for when multiple projectors are used to create a single large image. Network connectivity is included for remote monitoring and management, and both models are equipped to run with Crestron software and AMX Device Discovery.
Natural Colour Matrix allows for individual adjustment of each primary and secondary colour (R,G,B,C,M,Y), and the projectors can be used a full 360° along the vertical axis, for projection onto wall, floors and ceilings.
Both models feature a motorised lens shift function, powered focus and zoom, as well as optional lenses for short throw, long throw, tele-throw and rear projection.
