CEDIA has announced that Melanie Malcolm, co-founder and co-owner of Bespoke Home Cinemas, will join the CEDIA Board.

Melanie was voted in by the CEDIA Board to fill the seat vacated by Giles Sutton after he joined the CEDIA staff in July.

“We are thrilled to have Melanie join the CEDIA Board: She was part of the EMEA Board of Directors prior to the global integration so we know she will bring valuable insights to the table,” said Tabatha O’Connor, CEDIA Global President and CEO.

Melanie is co-founder and co-owner of Bespoke Home Cinemas based in Leeds, Yorkshire, UK. The company has been a long-standing CEDIA member and has picked up numerous industry awards for their work.  In 2016, Melanie joined the CEDIA EMEA Board as a director. Her volunteer efforts with CEDIA have continued to grow from there. She is the chair of the Smart Home Apprenticeship Trailblazer Committee, served as a CEDIA Awards judge for the 2018 competition, and is a CEDIA Groups member.

With a wealth of experience in the sales, marketing, and networking arena, Melanie recently joined forces with other industry professionals to become a Founder Member of the Home Tech Gallery Community. Aside from industry work, Melanie is a Director of two event management companies called Yorkshire Ladies Links and the Yorkshire Choice Awards, hosting conferences and award ceremonies throughout Yorkshire.

The term that Melanie is filling will run through January of 2020. Voting for the 2019 Board of Directors is currently open and will remain accessible until 19 October 2018. Please visit the CEDIA Elections page for more information on the voting process and this year’s candidates.  Elected directors will be announced immediately after voting closes and will be seated on 1 January 2019.
