Initially the new 1080p IPTV service will be offered as a managed IPTV service with white label capability so any potential Internet Service Provider (ISP), Multiple Dwelling Units (MDU) or hotels can brand this new IPTV service with their own logo, users and content, thus slashing the start-up and operating cost by 80% compared to traditional IPTV deployment.

By using the latest MatrixStream patent pending MatrixCast technology, any TV viewer in Australia with any broadband connection can view live high def TV and Video on Demand in full HD 1080p with 5.1 surround sound without any buffering or jerkiness usually associated with Internet video.

MatrixStream IPTV platform also supports features such as targeted advertising, 3DTV, pause live TV, DVR, music and photos, games, and TV apps.

Consumers can access the new IPTV service via MX 1 HD Box and on selected Blu-ray players and internet connected HDTV. The Fiber VSP finished a six month trial of streaming 1080p live TV and video on demand across Australia and the APAC region has also concluded successfully and contract negotiations and discussions are underway with several service providers based on the proven MatrixStream IPTV technology.

Many rural areas such as Parks and Condoblin have been tested with the MatrixCast technology and have performed flawlessly for both SD and HD trial content. Plans are now underway to create a super IPTV headend to support Australia’s NBN rollout and the APAC regions. Neighbouring areas such as New Zealand, Fiji, Malaysia, Indonesia will benefit from the proven success and super headend plans in Australia.

The Fiber VSP will offer an optional unbundled ADSL2+ line to stream the new IPTV services so customers can stream all they want without incurring any bandwidth charges.

“The MatrixStream IPTV cloud service will give Australia consumers unprecedented access to HDTV content from around the world unparalleled in Australian history,” says MatrixStream director of marketing Aaron Keogh.

“Australian consumers will no longer be stuck in the backwater of IP Video.”
