Marantz unveils MODEL M1 and M4 amplifiers
Marantz, distributed by Masimo in Australia, has delivered the MODEL M1 and M4 wireless streaming amplifiers, offering great sound from a wide range of streamed music services.
Uniquely positioned in the market, the MODEL M1 is an amplifier that appeals to both first-time hi-fi buyers and experienced audio enthusiasts.

MODEL M1 suits a wide range of loudspeakers, from compact designs to towers or ceiling or wall-mounted speakers. Its high-end power amplification offers 100W of stereo output with low distortion at 0.005% THD via digital inputs. If desired, a subwoofer for a 2.1-channel experience can be added.
In addition, advanced configuration options allow for full adjustment of both high-pass-filter and low-pass-filter frequencies independently, along with +/-15dB of subwoofer level trim.
Packed with all the functionality of the M1, the MODEL M4 is a dedicated rack-mountable amplifier that allows four independent rooms in a residential setting to each enjoy their own music listening. All four rooms are driven by one robust installation-optimised amplifier equipped with eight-time 100W of output and four independent HEOS modules.
For the sound of vinyl, users can even connect to a compatible record player (a model with an included phono stage or a separate, external phono amplifier) via the MODEL M1’s line-level RCA analogue inputs. Including eARC HDMI input means simple one-remote control over system volume levels and power management using the TV’s supplied handset.
The onboard Dolby Digital Plus decoding supports the latest audio codecs typically used by broadcast and streamed TV services in high quality and a range of useful adjustment functions provide for an optimised experience whatever and whenever users are watching.
The HEOS app provides full control over MODEL M1’s functionality, even when the amplifier is installed out of line-of-sight. MODEL M1 is compatible with a broad range of third-party control systems, including such industry-renowned brands as Crestron, Control4 and URC, and provides for IR learning, so other brands of remote-control handsets can be used.
