Marantz has rolled out its 20-series preamp and power amp. The two entrants follow the brand’s 10-series product that was launched in 2023.

Masimo director of training Philip Jones says the biggest difference between the two series is the number of available channels.

“The AMP 20 and AV 20 are 12 and 13.4-channel products, respectively,” he says.

“That’s down from the 16-channel AMP 10 and 15.4-channel AV 10.”

The AV 20 will support Dirac’s extensive room-optimisation technologies, Dirac Live Active Room Treatment (ART), which is designed to give the most cohesive and tonally consistent listening experience of any room correcting technology. ART will be available via a future firmware update.

The AV 20 touts seven HDMI inputs that support up to 8K/60Hz or 4K/120Hz video. The various analogue and digital inputs allow integrators to adapt the product to the needs of their client, from intimate media rooms to substantial home theatre systems.

The AMP 20 is configured with 12 channels that provide up to 200W per channel.

The 20-series can be mixed and matched with any other Marantz components to provide an experience that’s customised and tailored to the specific needs of the user.
