Luxul, distributed by Avation, has announced a new dual-band AC1200 outdoor wireless access point.

Compatible with the XWC-1000 wireless controller, the IP-65-rated XAP-1440 uses multi-stream 802.11ac technology that produces data rates of up to 1,200Mbps. For smaller networks, Luxul has also introduced the XAP-810 access point which provides a cost-effective solution.

“When deployed in networks with our wireless controller, the XAP-1440 allows integrators to easily extend the seamless WiFi experience beyond the home or facility,” says Luxul general manager and vice president Jeffery Curtis.

“When costs are more of a factor, our XAP-810 provides advanced technology at a lower price point, making it a great addition to smaller residential or commercial networks.”

Both the XAP-1440 and XAP-810 can be easily set up on a network with Luxul’s XWC-1000 wireless controller as they make use of the Roam Assist feature to provide a seamless roaming experience for users.

The new access points will be shipping mid-November.
