The DRSG communicates the opportunities in building the Smart Grid infrastructure and practices that will update the national electricity system and change the way customers use electricity.

The DRSG welcomes members to its organisation to help with the efforts of educating policy makers on the many ways that the demand response and Smart Grid infrastructure can help lead an economic recovery in the United States.

This trade association continues to expand and diversify with new members that provide products and services in the demand response and Smart Grid areas. There are many economic challenges that can be addressed today with current Smart Grid technologies.

The DRSG also continues to work with the US Congress on the development of new energy policies and regulations that affect global climate change.

“Executing demand response with a home or building light control system is one of the most effective ways to stabilise and bring efficiencies in peak demand situations,” Lutron Smart Grid Solutions director Ian Rowbottom says.

“Shedding lighting loads throughout a building can be done without occupants even knowing its happening and helps prevent community-wide power supply disruption.”
