In attendance were some of Perth’s prestige builders, architects, interior designers and Surrounds clientele. In addition, a handful of industry professionals had flown in from the east coast to join the festivities.

With fine food from Heyder & Shears and wine tasting by Kate Lamont and John Jens, the evenings’ also featured the launch of the new Kalidescape mini movie system and the new Yamaha Modus Piano’s.

During official proceedings, video industry guru Aaron Rigg of Avical took the microphone and proclaimed ‘Cinema DeLux’ as the best facility of its kind in the country. These words were echoed by many whom attended and the reaction from the demonstration screenings was overwhelming.

Guests experienced a high definition screening inside Cinema DeLux using excerpts of Kung Fu Panda, Steve Wonder Live, Foxtel HD and PS3’s Grand Turismo. Elsewhere in the store, guests were handed a Crestron touchscreen to drive what’s been described as the best of the best in movie entertainment, the Kalidescape system from the US. An in-store musician tinkled the ivory’s on Yamaha’s new internet-capable Modus Piano.

Each guests’ personal invitation to the event was in the form of a toy kaleidoscope, and this was later found out to signify how far home entertainment has come over the years. Upon arrival each guest received their movie ticket and lined up on the red carpet eager to take in the Cinema DeLux experience. Complimenting the evening, an insight talk was given by the Surrounds team about where integrated home entertainment is heading and ‘Content to Control’, – where a one company approach to not only what you watch, but how you watch it is vital as we head towards an on-line media world.

*Cinema DeLux was conceived as a showpiece to provide clientele the opportunity of experiencing ‘what is possible’ and to represent new entertainment directions in a dedicated purpose built room. It is located inside their Nedlands showroom and is now open for viewing. Just when you thought Home Cinema has been done to death, think again. Cinema DeLux provides a fresh breath of life into home entertainment.
