Kordz ONE Control Cable combines power and data in a single run
Kordz Australia has launched its ONE 18AWG x 2C + 22AWG x 1P Control Cable, combining power delivery and RS-485 data communication in a single cable for building control and automation applications.
The cable incorporates two 18AWG stranded conductors for Safety Extra Low Voltage (SELV) power, alongside a shielded 22AWG twisted pair for RS-485 data communication.

Kordz product manager Josh Yammouni says the cable was designed to give integrators a more versatile option for modern control systems.
“Kordz’ ONE Control Cable gives integrators an ultra-versatile cabling option that’s built specifically for modern building control, including Lutron, Cresnet, DALI and Control4 systems,” Josh says.
The cable supports applications including lighting, shading, HVAC interfaces, sensors and automation processors, with compatibility across platforms including Lutron, Cresnet and Control4.
Its combined power and data construction can help reduce the number of individual cable runs required in control installations, while the balanced strand construction is designed to provide a combination of power handling, flexibility and durability.
For installers, Kordz has incorporated several features intended to simplify cable preparation and deployment. These include industry-standard colour coding, metre markings and Kordz’ easy-glide jacket and reel system.
“Together, these features help decrease preparation time and increase efficiency, particularly on large-scale commercial and multi-dwelling projects,” Josh says.
The cable is designed for routing through conduits, risers and control enclosures, while its flame-retardant PVC jacket meets IEC 60332-1 requirements and carries a CPR Eca classification.
It also complies with AS/NZS S008:2020 and RoHS requirements for compatible residential and commercial control installations.
