Klipsch refreshes Reference Premiere speakers and offers matching in-wall/in-ceiling options
Klipsch, which is distributed by QualiFi, has announced the debut of 16 new models of its Reference Premiere series speakers in three furniture-grade finishes – ebony, walnut and hand-sanded piano gloss black.
Now in its second generation, the Reference Premiere speakers feature proprietary Tractrix horn technology that improves high-frequency response and extension, as well as enhancing imaging and dynamics.
An exclusive Linear Travel Suspension titanium tweeter maximises dynamics, while a new, ultra-premium vented tweeter further smoothes high frequency response for enhanced detail and clarity. Klipsch signature copper Cerametallic woofers and Tractrix ports provide powerful low frequencies while minimising distortion and efficiency.

“We’ve taken the successful foundation of our best-selling speakers and enhanced them to create the hands-down, best-sounding premium speakers on the planet at these price points,” says Klipsch product manager Michael Buratto.
The 16 new Reference Premiere series models consist of five floor-standing towers, two bookshelf speakers, five centre channel speakers and three surround speakers, including the dual-purpose RP-500SA that functions as a Dolby Atmos elevation speaker or a rear/side wall-mountable surround.
The series uses a new proprietary SecureFit two-piece modular installation system to create a more robust, stable acoustic platform for the speakers that enables a quick and easy one-person installation solution. It is also designed to reduce baffle vibration by up to 40%.
At the last CEDIA US show, Klipsch showcased more than 50 new high-performance custom speaker solutions for residential and commercial applications, including the Klipsch Professional Reference Premiere Architectural speakers and Professional Reference speakers. These speakers combine the aesthetics of an architectural speaker with the same horn-loaded acoustics and core components of their home theatre component speaker counterparts.
The other two new Klipsch lines – Designer and Custom Architectural speakers – are high-quality and value lines that are equipped with Sky Hook by Swarm technology for a tool-free installation in less than one minute.
Exclusively licensed to Klipsch, the patent-pending Sky Hook technology is a fully automatic, self-adjusting installation system that is designed to simplify and reduce installation times by up to 75%. Simply cut a hole, attach wires and press the speaker into the hole, while Sky Hook adapts to the surface thickness with a preset clamping force that virtually eliminates the possibility of breaking the dog leg or cracking drywall. Removals are also fast and easy with a quarter turn of a screwdriver.
