JBL introduces its first soundbar with Dolby Atmos
JBL Australia/New Zealand has announced the latest edition of its popular Bar Series, the JBL Bar 9.1. It creates true wireless surround sound with JBL’s signature, crowd-pleasing Original Pro Sound now with the added punch of Dolby Atmos.

For entertainment buffs, the Bar 9.1 creates a surround sound experience JBL says only it can deliver. With inbuilt Dolby Atmos, users can create the ultimate atmospheric experience in the home.
With four powerful upward-facing Dolby Atmos drivers, the bar takes sounds to new heights, using room reflections to bounce audio from all angles while the two battery-powered, detachable wireless rear speakers shoot sound off the ceiling and back.
With 820W of total system power, listeners will enjoy every Oscar-worthy performance through robust, crystal-clear audio. To round out the Bar 9.1 System, the 10” powered subwoofer included delivers an impressive pulse-pounding bass.
On top of its audio capabilities, the Bar 9.1 supports Dolby Vision, a 4K video input that transforms viewing experience, automatically optimising the picture for every screen. The Bar 9.1 also has Chromecast, which allows for the bar to be part of a multi-room speaker setup, as well as Airplay 2 built-in, allowing users to stream their favourite tunes directly to the soundbar and set the perfect atmosphere while waiting on the popcorn.
“The JBL Bar 9.1 True Wireless Surround Sound with Dolby Atmos enhances and redefines the listening experience for home entertainment,” HARMAN brand activation director of ANZ Marcus Fry says.
“At JBL, we are excited to bring professional, cutting-edge audio technology straight into our customers’ living rooms with our first Dolby Atmos-powered soundbar.”
